Kevin Modany has been plying his trade as the Managing Director of BlueRock Partners since he was appointed in 2016. Specializing in strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and leadership, Modany has used his skillet to help build and uplift his clients while working across various industries.
After developing his expertise over the past 10+ years, Modany has carved out time from his busy schedule to share what he learned. Now a specialist and industry expert, Modany opened up to the team at Ideamensch as he outlined what makes him an effective worker.
Dreaming and Building For Completion
Kevin Modany understands that big projects take a lot of preparation, but that project will still ultimately begin with an idea. Modany is prolific when jotting down ideas that come to him and taking notes or verbal memos to ensure he remembers a good idea. Modany believes that even the best ideas begin as a little nugget of a concept.
Modany said of his ability to grow a small idea into something more significant: “I certainly try to paint a picture of the vision and our goals and objectives at a macro level.”
Giving a long view of the tasks ahead has helped Modany stay on his toes, pivoting as necessary to ensure his goals align with strategic planning. Modany said, “You have to have the capacity to turn those macro thoughts into executable initiatives that align directly with those goals that align with the strategic plan.”
Keeping a Clear Head in the Office
As in life, finding business success requires focusing on the things that matter, including health. Kevin Modany has always believed that his affinity for exercise has played a significant role in maintaining a clear head while working at the office.
Kevin Modany says, “I would recommend that everyone should try running. My workout repertoire is typically running, resistance training, and stretching.”
For Kevin Modany, exercise is so integral to improving his life that he blocks out his calendar to ensure that it fits into his schedule. Modany added, “When I’m unfocused or overwhelmed, I go for a run. It’s meditative, helpful for focusing, and great exercise.”
Modany likes to sit back and unwind with raw historical shows like Yellowstone and 1923 when he’s not keeping his head clear through exercise. Modany said, “I think I enjoy the rawness of it. The rudimentary nature and rawness of that whole lifestyle fascinate me.”
